I have been Muslim for about 8 years alhamdulillah. I am African American. I teach Secondary French. I am educated. I also have a masters degree in education. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, oil painting, going to Islamic events (lectures, halaqas, interfaith talks), going out to eat. I like to eat different kinds of food (Indian, Middle Eastern, Mexican, Italian, etc.) and I also am a vegetarian. I also enjoy reading (especially self-help books and books on marriage). I am soft-spoken, kind, generous, loyal and creative. I am a good listener and a good friend. I get along well with others. Although I am divorced, I love marriage and I would be a devoted wife. I wear hijab, and jilbab/skirts. I am moderate not overly strict or overly lax. I do all obligatory acts of worship and try my best to perform the sunnah. I am fairly active in my masjid.
